Fillmore was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Andover on Monday. The Eagles blew past the Panthers 11-1. Considering the Eagles have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Damon Potter was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Fillmore's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-6 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Jared Boon, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs.
Fillmore's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Andover, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
