Basketball Recap: Bishop Guilfoyle's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Bishop Guilfoyle waltzed into their matchup on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They strolled past the Penn Cambria Panthers with points to spare, taking the game 77-63. Given the Marauders' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 59th, while the Panthers are ranked 209th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Penn Cambria's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Caden Gibbons, who went 7 for 9 en route to 17 points and five rebounds, and Brandon Rabish, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 15 points and three steals. Rabish's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Lilly, who posted 12 points.

Bishop Guilfoyle's victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points per game. As for Penn Cambria, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Guilfoyle will host Huntingdon at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Penn Cambria, they will look to defend their home court on January 24th against Bedford at 7:15 p.m.
