Volleyball Recap: Columbus Comes Up Short

Columbus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 3-1 to the Red Lodge Rams. Cougars fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Rams since Thursday.

Columbus actually scored more points across those four sets (90-86), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-23, 11-25, 25-22, 25-20.

Rayne Cook had a dynamite game For Red Lodge., getting 20 digs. Cook is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Columbus' loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Red Lodge, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Columbus has already played their next match, a 1-0 defeat against Broadwater on the 4th. As for Red Lodge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Joliet on the 4th.
