Basketball Recap: Ida Baker Skates Past Riverdale with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Gateway, Ida Baker was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They breezed by the Riverdale Raiders to the tune of 59-16. That 43 point margin sets a new team best for the Bulldogs this season.

Ida Baker had a senior duo take command as Maia Berdebes dropped a double-double on 20 points and 23 rebounds and Jocelyn Hernandez-Castro dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hernandez-Castro has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Isabela Beauchamp, who posted six points and six boards.

Ida Baker smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 30 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since the start of last season.

Ida Baker moved to 3-13 with that victory, which also ended their eight-game losing streak. As for Riverdale, they dropped their record down to 0-14 with the defeat, which was their 20th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Ida Baker has already played their next match, a 58-48 win against East Lee County on the 14th. As for Riverdale, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 42-27 loss against Cypress Lake on the 14th.
