Basketball Recap: Crestline Takes a Loss

Crestline lost against Hardin Northern back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Crestline Bulldogs took a blow against the Hardin Northern Polar Bears, falling 45-12. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-4.

Despite the defeat, Crestline saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jocelyn Noblit posted 11 points.

Among those leading the charge was Alaina Thomas, who went 6 of 10 en route to 13 points in addition to six steals and five assists. That's the most steals she has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Baylie Bacon, who had five points along with nine steals and five rebounds.

Crestline's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Hardin Northern, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Crestline will be playing at home against Mt. Gilead at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Crestline is facing Mt. Gilead at the right time seeing as Mt. Gilead is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Hardin Northern, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 59-8 victory against Temple Christian on the 4th.
