Baseball Recap: Animo City of Champions Takes a Loss

Animo City of Champions was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Animo Leadership Aztec Eagles, falling 18-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Aztec Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-4 back in March.

Animo City of Champions' defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Animo Leadership, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Animo City of Champions will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hawthorne Math & Science Academy at 3:15 p.m. on the 28th. As for Animo Leadership, they will square off against Animo Venice at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.63 runs per game on average), something the Aztec Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
