Baseball Game Preview: Voyager Academy Vikings vs. Reidsville Rams

The Voyager Academy Vikings will take on the Reidsville Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Voyager Academy comes in on 13 and Reidsville on three.

Last Monday, Voyager Academy made easy work of Durham Academy and carried off a 10-1 win. Considering the Vikings have won eight games by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Cameron Copley made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in ten consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February.

In other pitching news, Carrick Ryan looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Aidan Daly, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Voyager Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Durham Academy only posted a batting average of .050.

Meanwhile, Reidsville got the win against North Forsyth on Tuesday by a conclusive 17-2.

Voyager Academy's victory bumped their record up to 13-0. As for Reidsville, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.
