If Falls Lake wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Research Triangle, they should've done a better job of containing Akash Immani. The Research Triangle Raptors escaped with a win on Thursday against the Falls Lake Firebirds by the margin of a single free throw, 60-59 thanks in part to Immani, who posted 27 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

When it comes to explaining why Falls Lake lost, don't look at Jonathan Taylor- Hamilton. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Taylor- Hamilton continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Camden Cooke, who had six points along with five boards and three steals.

Research Triangle's record is now 5-13. As for Falls Lake, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Falls Lake beat Research Triangle by a score of 58-48 on Monday.
