Pine Forest had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 76-57 victory over the Westover Wolverines. The Trojans pushed the score to 56-36 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wolverines cut but never quite recovered from.

Leading Pine Forest to victory were Derek Green and Angelo Jones. Green almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine boards, while Jones went 9 of 12 en route to 18 points and eight rebounds. That's the most points Green has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kabori Simmons, who posted ten points and seven boards.

Pine Forest smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive matches.

Pine Forest pushed their record up to 11-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points per game. As for Westover, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-6.

Pine Forest will face off against Richmond at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Richmond will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Pine Forest surely won't give up without a fight. Westover has already played their next game (against Providence), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
