Preview: Buckeye Trail Warriors vs. Cambridge Bobcats
The Buckeye Trail Warriors will head out on the road to take on the Cambridge Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Buckeye Trail and ten for Cambridge.
Buckeye Trail suffered their closest loss yet this season on Wednesday. They fell just short of Frontier by a score of 44-42. While losing is never fun, Buckeye Trail can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 684th, while Frontier is ranked 262nd).
Cambridge suffered their biggest defeat since December 9, 2023 on Monday. Their rough 44-21 defeat to Meadowbrook might stick with them for a while.
Buckeye Trail has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Cambridge, their loss was their seventh straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-14.
Everything came up roses for Buckeye Trail against Cambridge in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 53-16 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Buckeye Trail since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
