Winfield scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 59-52 defeat to the St. Louis Christian HomeSchool K Knights. The Warriors' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Nathan Reed was his usual excellent self, going 7 for 13 on his way to 23 points in addition to five boards and three steals for St. Louis Christian HomeSchool K. The game was Reed's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Bradford, who posted six points and four steals.

Winfield now has a losing record at 3-4. As for St. Louis Christian HomeSchool K, they moved to 8-8 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Winfield will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Veritas Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 14th. As for St. Louis Christian HomeSchool K, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 79-34 victory against Liberty Christian Academy on the 4th.
