Baseball Game Preview: Algona Bulldogs vs. Hampton-Dumont/CAL

Algona is a perfect 4-0 against Hampton-Dumont/CAL since June of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Bulldogs will head out to square off against Hampton-Dumont/CAL at 5:30 p.m. Algona's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Hampton-Dumont/CAL's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Algona's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Friday's struggle, when Solon hitters got past them. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 12-11 on Friday. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Hampton-Dumont/CAL, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out North Butler 3-2 on Thursday. Hampton-Dumont/CAL hasn't had any issues with North Butler recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Algona's loss dropped their record down to 14-3. As for Hampton-Dumont/CAL, their victory bumped their record up to 4-11.
