Baseball Game Preview: The King's Academy Knights vs. Mt. Bethel Christian Academy Eagles

The King's Academy is a perfect 4-0 against Mt. Bethel Christian Academy since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Knights will face off against the Eagles at 12:00 p.m. The King's Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, The King's Academy made easy work of Cristo Rey Atlanta and carried off a 13-6 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Davis Windham made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Windham was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jimmy Anderson was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for The King's Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-6 otherwise. Josh Jordi was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Meanwhile, Mt. Bethel Christian Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Dominion Christian on Thursday and fell 6-5. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The King's Academy pushed their record up to 11-6 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Mt. Bethel Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-20.

The King's Academy took their win against Mt. Bethel Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 19-1 score. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
