Softball Recap: Willow Glen Beats Archbishop Mitty for Their 27th Straight Victory

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Willow Glen walked away with it. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Archbishop Mitty Monarchs 1-0. The Rams' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Not much got past Alanna Clincy, who gave up just five hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Archbishop Mitty off the board. Clincy has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 22 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Katelynn Dilbeck was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three stolen bases. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lea Crawford, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.

Willow Glen's win was their 14th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 27-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Archbishop Mitty, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-8-1.

As of now, neither Willow Glen nor the Monarchs have any future games scheduled.
