Baseball Recap: Madison Beats Boothbay for Their Third Straight Win

Madison had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They walked away with a 10-5 victory over the Boothbay Seahawks. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-1 back in May.

Jayden Horton was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Xavier Estes, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season. Jaeson Almeida was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Madison's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Boothbay, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.

As of now, neither Madison nor the Seahawks have any future games scheduled.
