Recap: Jackson-Reed Tigers vs. Ballou Knights
The Jackson-Reed Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They took a 14-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ballou. Jackson-Reed lost against Ballou in their previous head to head back in September, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 43-3 score last time.
Ballou can attribute much of their success to Kelvin Hewitt, who rushed for 40 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 130 yards and a touchdown.
Jackson-Reed's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 8.5 points per game. As for Ballou, their victory bumped their record up to 5-5.
Jackson-Reed does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Ballou will square off against Woodson at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in District of Columbia (Woodson is ranked sixth, while Ballou is ranked 12th).
