Baseball Recap: Reading Gets the Win

The Reading Blue Devils were able to grind out a solid win over the Seven Hills Stingers on Saturday, taking the game 7-4.

JT Disbennett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on 12 hits. He also scored two runs, which is notable because Reading is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-14 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Carter Reed, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. He has become a key player for Reading: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three hits, but 4-14 otherwise.

Reading was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Reading's victory bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Seven Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.

Coming up, Reading will host Wyoming at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Seven Hills, they will head out on the road to face off against Western Hills at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
