Basketball Recap: Lauren Farrell and Madison Alexander Secure Win for Cox Mill

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Cox Mill's strategy against South Iredell on Monday. Everything went the Cox Mill Chargers' way against the South Iredell Vikings as the Cox Mill Chargers made off with a 53-30 victory. 53 seems to be a good number for the Chargers as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Cox Mill was led to victory by Madison Alexander and Lauren Farrell. Alexander went 6 for 13 on her way to 15 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals, while Farrell went 6 of 13 en route to 19 points along with eight boards and six steals. Farrell is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last ten games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Ligon, who posted two points in addition to five assists and five steals.

The victory made it two in a row for Cox Mill and bumps their season record up to 7-11. As for South Iredell, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.

Cox Mill wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 71-48 win against West Cabarrus on the 28th. As for South Iredell, they will take on Hickory Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
