The David Crockett Pioneers are taking a road trip to square off against the Daniel Boone Trailblazers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. David Crockett will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Having struggled with three defeats in a row, David Crockett turned things around against Sullivan East on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Patriots 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Pioneers have posted since April 5th.

Aj Ford was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up six earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three doubles gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nolan Street, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Jones, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
David Crockett was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Daniel Boone earned a 7-4 victory over Lebanon on Wednesday.
Daniel Boone saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was T J Leonard, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Braydon Norton was another, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
Daniel Boone is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-9-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for David Crockett, their record now sits at 11-17.
David Crockett suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Daniel Boone in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Pioneers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
