Basketball Recap: Tyauna English's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Escambia over Navarre

Escambia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 55-33 to the Navarre Raiders. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-28 back in November.

Escambia lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tyauna English, who posted 16 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Demi Liu, who had 12 points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Escambia smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in eight consecutive contests.

Escambia's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Navarre, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-6.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Tate the next time they take the court. Navarre will head out to face Tate at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Escambia will host them at 6:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
