Baseball Recap: Westlake's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Westlake had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Bay Rockets 2-1. This was a revenge game for the Demons: when they faced off against the Rockets back in April, they had to take a 4-3 defeat.

Alex Moran was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

In other pitching news, Ryan Camden looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

Moran wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Sean Brouillard, who went 2-for-6 with one run and one double.

Westlake now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Bay, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-16.

Coming up, Westlake will be playing in front of their home fans against South at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The last three games the Rebels have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. Bay does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
