Recap: King Jaguars vs. Perspectives-IIT/Joslin Wolves
The King Jaguars lost to the Perspectives-IIT/Joslin Wolves back in December of 2022, but the King Jaguars didn't allow the Perspectives-IIT/Joslin Wolves the same satisfaction on Friday. King had just enough and edged Perspectives-IIT/Joslin out 44-41. The victory made it back-to-back wins for King.
King was led to victory by Jada Harris and Takeria Berkhalter. Harris scored 17 points along with 9 rebounds, while Berkhalter dropped a double-double on 12 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Berkhalter has scored at least 25% of King's points.
Despite the loss, Perspectives-IIT/Joslin still got an impressive performance from Leilani Laws, who scored 29 points. Laws scored a full 70.7% of Perspectives-IIT/Joslin's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jayla Akons was another key contributor, scoring 6 points.
King has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 3-2 record. As for Perspectives-IIT/Joslin, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. King will square off against Goode STEM Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Perspectives-IIT/Joslin, they will head out on the road to face off against Fenger at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
