Basketball Recap: Highland View Academy Takes a Loss

Highland View Academy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-2. They took a blow against the GVCS Broadfording Lions, falling 50-21. Surprisingly, this marked Highland View Academy's fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

As for GVCS Broadfording, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2. Those 50 points were actually the fewest they have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Fernando Garcia produced another solid performance putting up eight points and four steals. Isaac Derr also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Looking ahead, Highland View Academy will challenge Cumberland Valley Christian at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for GVCS Broadfording, they will head out on the road to face off against Heritage Academy at 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
