Basketball Recap: Southmont Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Southmont had won three straight road games dating back to last season and Vince Reimondo did his part to make it four on Saturday. The Southmont Mounties walked away with a 56-44 win over the Crawfordsville Athenians thanks in part to Reimondo, who posted 12 points and three steals. Those three steals gave him a new career-high.

Crawfordsville's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Mason McCarty, who put up 20 points, and Alec Saidian, who earned eight points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Southmont is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.2 points per game. As for Crawfordsville, they moved to 5-8 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southmont will square off against Lebanon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Southmont's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests. As for Crawfordsville, they will face off against Frankfort at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Crawfordsville is facing Frankfort at the right time seeing as Frankfort is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
