Basketball Recap: George Walton Academy Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins at Home

If George Walton Academy was feeling good fresh off their 60-29 takedown of Trinity Christian last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The George Walton Academy Bulldogs fell 40-33 to the Tallulah Falls Indians on Tuesday. The match marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, George Walton Academy still got an impressive performance from Ashley Hill, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 17 boards. What's more, Hill also racked up two blocks, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Lora Kate Malcom was another key player, putting up 11 points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, George Walton Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

George Walton Academy's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-4. As for Tallulah Falls, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-14.

George Walton Academy will face off against Lakeview Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lakeview Academy will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something George Walton Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Tallulah Falls, they will square off against Bethlehem Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
