Softball Recap: McCracken County Comes Up Short

McCracken County was the 8-4 winner over Graves County when they last played one another back in March of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Mustangs fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 4-2 on Thursday.

Addison Dudley was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Macy Butler was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

McCracken County has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 20-10 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Graves County, they pushed their record up to 19-7-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: McCracken County beat the Eagles by a score of 13-8 later that day.
