Baseball Recap: Martin County West Mavericks vs. Madelia Blackhawks

Martin County West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Madelia Blackhawks, falling 14-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blackhawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 two weeks ago.

Noah Meixell made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and one run. Those doubles were his first of the season. Preston Cepress was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Martin County West's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Madelia, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
