Basketball Recap: North Vermilion Picks Up 14th Straight Win at Home

North Vermilion entered their tilt with St. Thomas More on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the St. Thomas More Cougars 39-36. For the Patriots, this counts as revenge for the 31-26 victory the Cougars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

North Vermilion's win was their 14th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26.9 points. As for St. Thomas More, their loss dropped their record down to 17-8.

Coincidentally, North Vermilion and St. Thomas More will both be playing Rayne the next time they take the court. St. Thomas More will head out to face Rayne at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while North Vermilion will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
