Recap: Hendersonville Bearcats vs. Patton Panthers
After a string of five wins, the Hendersonville Bearcats's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 70-58 to Patton. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Several Bearcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Malachi Simpson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Simpson hasn't dropped below 16 points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Coby Retana, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Hendersonville's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-7. As for Patton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season.
