Ider's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the Sand Rock Wildcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hornets have posted since April 1, 2024.

Ider's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Milee Troxtel, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Troxtel a new career-high. Another was Mattie Weldon, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.

Ider's win ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-1. As for Sand Rock, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Ider will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Madison Academy at 11:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Sand Rock, they will welcome Fyffe at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
