Baseball Recap: Cedaredge Has No Trouble Against Meeker

Cedaredge hadn't done well against Meeker recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Bruins blew past the Cowboys 13-1. The Bruins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.

Brady Cooper made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Dane Brown was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Cedaredge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Cedaredge's record is now 16-3. As for Meeker, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Cedaredge has already played their next matchup, a 10-0 victory against Olathe on the 6th. As for Meeker, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 4-0 win against Grand Valley on the 6th.
