Basketball Game Preview: Grosse Ile Red Devils vs. Huron Chiefs

The Grosse Ile Red Devils will venture away from home to take on the Huron Chiefs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

On Monday, Grosse Ile was beaten by St. Mary Catholic Central 52-24. The loss continues a trend for the Red Devils in their meetings with the Falcons/Kestrels: they've now lost three in a row.

Huron not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since February 24, 2025 (when they won 59-21). They blew past Milan 43-20. The Chiefs have beaten the Big Reds the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Big Reds has come to flipping the script.

Grosse Ile's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Huron, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Grosse Ile suffered a grim 66-42 defeat to Huron when the teams last played back in January of 2025. Can the Red Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
