Football Recap: Don Lugo Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Don Lugo extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-4. They came up short against the Chino Cowboys, falling 33-7. The Conquistadores were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cowboys apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Don Lugo lost, don't look at Savian Sumlar. Despite the final result, he rushed for 33 yards and one score, and also threw for 200 yards on 16 of 24 attempts.

Chino's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Raymond Chia was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 216 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two).

Don Lugo and Chino will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matches. The next time the Conquistadores see the field they'll take on Brentwood School at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. As for Chino, their break will end when they face Covina at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
