Basketball Recap: Houston Comes Up Short

Houston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 61-40 to the Mountain Grove Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 364th, while the Panthers are ranked 55th).

Houston's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Mountain Grove, their victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2.

Houston will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Thayer at 7:30 p.m. on February 3rd. One thing working in Thayer's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games. As for Mountain Grove, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Mountain Grove Panthers face off against the Seymour Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
