Basketball Recap: Barrow Comes Up Short

Barrow suffered their biggest defeat since December 14, 2023 on Wednesday. They were dealt a 77-39 loss at the hands of the Grace Christian Grizzlies. The Whalers have struggled against the Grizzlies recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the defeat, Barrow saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Alex Fruean posted 25 points. Fruean's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

It was another big night for Bristol Tobin, who went 8 of 12 on his way to 20 points along with six rebounds and five assists for Grace Christian. Robbie Annett was another key player, putting up ten points and five assists.

Barrow's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Grace Christian, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Barrow has already played their next game, a 71-48 defeat against Service on the 9th. As for Grace Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-48 win against Ketchikan on the 9th.
