Football Recap: Edmonds-Woodway Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Edmonds-Woodway made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Sedro-Woolley, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Warriors fell just short of the Cubs by a score of 28-25 on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by exactly three points.

Despite the loss, Edmonds-Woodway still got an impressive performance from Zach Gizzi, who picked up 158 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Sedro-Woolley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cliff Tadema led the charge by throwing for 242 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 75% of his passes. What's more, Tadema racked up 127.5 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Edmonds-Woodway and nudges their season record down to 3-2. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only three points. As for Sedro-Woolley, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Coming up, Edmonds-Woodway will look to defend their home field on Friday against Shorecrest at 5:00 p.m. As for Sedro-Woolley, they will venture away from home to face off against Marysville Getchell at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th.
