They fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 2-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last seven times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Camdyn Alton was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits.

Meanwhile, Northgate made easy work of Acalanes on Thursday and carried off a 14-5 victory. Considering the Broncos have won seven games by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Mackenzie Hudson looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Addison Baxter was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Sophie Hanko, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Clayton Valley Charter's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 13-6-1. As for Northgate, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-10 record this season.

Clayton Valley Charter was able to grind out a solid win over Northgate when the teams last played back in April, winning 7-2. Will the Ugly Eagles repeat their success, or do the Broncos have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
