Dunnellon took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against North Marion, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Dunnellon Tigers narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the North Marion Colts 3-1. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Tigers as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Mark Pastorella spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Dunnellon's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brody Roland, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Dunnellon's win bumped their record up to 2-7. As for North Marion, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, Dunnellon and North Marion will both be playing Trinity Catholic the next time they take the field. North Marion will head out to face Trinity Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while Dunnellon will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
