Ray had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Willcox on Saturday. Everything went the Ray Bearcats' way against the Willcox Cowboys as the Ray Bearcats made off with a 10-2 win. The victory was nothing new for the Bearcats as they're now sitting on five straight.

Seth Wade and Logan Rice were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Wade didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Rice tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Wade gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had over his last five games. At bat, Wade scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Rice scored two runs and stole a base. Ray is undefeated when Rice posts two or more runs, but 2-6 otherwise.

Ray hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts in three consecutive matchups.

Ray's record now sits at 5-6. As for Willcox, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ray will square off against Anthem Prep at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Willcox, they will face off against Round Valley at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
