Basketball Recap: Pine River-Backus Drops Highest Score of Season Against Kelliher/Northome

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pine River-Backus). They came out on top against the Kelliher/Northome Mustangs by a score of 90-78 on Tuesday. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 69-66 win the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Pine River-Backus now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Kelliher/Northome, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pine River-Backus will challenge Pequot Lakes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Pequot Lakes' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Kelliher/Northome, they will take on Cass Lake-Bena at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
