Soccer Game Preview: Streator vs. Peotone

The Streator Bulldogs will square off against the Peotone Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Streator is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Coal City on Thursday. The Bulldogs took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Coalers. Streator fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against Coal City since on Thursday.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Peotone and Coal City had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Blue Devils' defense stepped up to hand the Coalers a 1-0 shutout on Saturday. The victory was all the more spectacular given Peotone's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 317th, while Coal City are ranked 109th).

Peotone's win bumped their record up to 3-5-1. As for Streator, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
