Football Game Preview: Big Spring Steers vs. Lake View Chiefs/Maidens

The Big Spring Steers will square off against the Lake View Chiefs/Maidens at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Friday, Big Spring came up short against Andrews and fell 28-20. The Steers have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Lake View humbled Pecos with a 42-14 victory. The Chiefs/Maidens might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Big Spring better keep an eye on Izaiah Rios. He was instrumental in Lake View's win, rushing for 172 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries. Rios' longest rush was for an impressive 61 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Lake View didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Evan Gallegos and Roman Garcia.

Lake View's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.3 points over those games. As for Big Spring, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3-1.
