Basketball Game Preview: Chambers/Wheeler Central Renegades vs. Niobrara/Verdigre Cougars

The Chambers/Wheeler Central Renegades will take on the Niobrara/Verdigre Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Chambers/Wheeler Central was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 57-53 to Bloomfield. The defeat continues a trend for the Renegades in their matchups with the Bees: they've now lost three in a row.

The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Ella Moses and Madyson Mlady. Mlady had a great game and almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. Meanwhile, Moses did her best for the losing side, going 5 of 11 on her way to 14 points and three steals.

Niobrara/Verdigre has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 44-40 heartbreaker at the hands of Wynot.

Niobrara/Verdigre's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Chambers/Wheeler Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

Chambers/Wheeler Central was taken down by Niobrara/Verdigre 57-24 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Thankfully for Chambers/Wheeler Central, Josilyn Miller (who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
