Volleyball Recap: San Leandro Starts Season with Loss at Home

San Leandro unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Newark Memorial Cougars on Friday. The Pirates were not able to make up for their loss to the Cougars from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-13, 19-25, 25-23.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Leandro will host Irvington at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Newark Memorial, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Arroyo at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
