Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Highland Tech). They breezed past the East Gaston Warriors to the tune of 56-29 on Friday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Rams considering their 17-point performance the contest before.

Despite the defeat, East Gaston saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kayla Maiers posted 18 points and five boards. Those 18 points gave Maiers a new career-high.

Highland Tech's victory bumped their record up to 9-14. As for East Gaston, their loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-22.

Highland Tech didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-44 defeat against Burns on the 17th. As for East Gaston, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 64-30 loss against Shelby on the 17th.
