Fairfield and Carmi-White County are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Mules will head out on the road to challenge the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Fairfield has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Fairfield made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Centralia, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Mules fell just short of the Orphans by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. The Mules' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Fairfield saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Easton, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Carmi-White County couldn't beat Hamilton County on Thursday even though they stacked seven runs on them in the fourth inning. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Foxes by a score of 10-8. Bulldogs fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Foxes since on Thursday.

Carmi-White County's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-12-1. As for Fairfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-9.

Fairfield came up short against Carmi-White County in their previous meeting two weeks ago, falling 9-5. Can the Mules avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
