Lapel has gone 8-2 against Alexandria-Monroe recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lapel has six straight victories, Alexandria-Monroe has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Lapel had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Hamilton Heights on Thursday. The Bulldogs blew past the Huskies 10-3. Considering the Bulldogs have won 11 contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Gavin Rushton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Camden Novak was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Rylie Hudson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Lapel always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hamilton Heights only posted an OBP of .207.
Meanwhile, Alexandria-Monroe came up short against Frankton on Thursday and fell 4-1.
Alexandria-Monroe saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trevor Martin, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Lapel's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Alexandria-Monroe, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8.
Both Lapel and Alexandria-Monroe just can't seem to miss. The Bulldogs have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Alexandria-Monroe struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.1 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lapel was able to grind out a solid win over Alexandria-Monroe in their previous matchup back in April, winning 7-3. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
