Football Recap: Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Indians vs. Columbia Blue Devils
Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 28-7 to the Columbia Blue Devils.
Mason Carkner rushed for 36 yards.
Gavin Lochner was his top target, rushing for 17 yards.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Columbia to victory, but perhaps none more so than Christopher Carter Jr, who rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown on only five carries, and also picked up 45 receiving yards and a touchdown. Carter Jr got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run and that went for an incredible 73 yards. Another passer making a difference was Dylan Maychack, who threw for 95 yards and two touchdowns on only nine passes.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk will challenge Ichabod Crane at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak dating back to last season alive. As for Columbia, they will face off against Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
