Basketball Game Preview: Mill Creek Hawks vs. Buford Wolves

Mill Creek hasn't had much luck against Buford recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Mill Creek Hawks will challenge the Buford Wolves at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Mill Creek challenged Dacula on Monday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, Mill Creek made off with a 54-53 win over Dacula. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.

Meanwhile, Buford didn't have too much trouble with Central Gwinnett on Monday as they won 66-51. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while the Black Knights are ranked 90th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mill Creek has also been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.9 points per game. As for Buford, their record now sits at 18-2.

Mill Creek was able to grind out a solid victory over Buford when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 60-51. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mill Creek since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
