Volleyball Recap: Wasatch Gets the Win

Wasatch hadn't done well against Cedar Valley recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Wasps walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Aviators. This was payback for the Wasps, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Wasatch walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the fourth set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 26-24, 19-25, 25-8.

Annie Cronauer paced Wasatch's offense, picking up nine kills. Cronauer got some help from Macy Clark and her 18 assists. Finally, Mahala Speredon kept Wasatch's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Wasatch has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. As for Cedar Valley, they dropped their record down to 1-2 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Wasatch will challenge Uintah at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cedar Valley, they have already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Bonneville on the 22nd.
